Immediataly after returning from trip Slovinsko – Julské Alpy v zimě organized by CK Alpina I have spent only several hour in Czech Republic. I have left at ISPO 2010 to Munchen on Monday morning at 4a.m., Feb 8. I could stay only for several hours there, so I have managed to visit partially only companies oriented on skialpinism and freeride. First tips from ISPO are described here.

Swiss company Fritschi introduced instead of last year hot product Diamir Eagle, which is main-ship of Diamiru, also new binding for coming season – significantly improved Diamir Freeride Pro.

Diamir Eagle was everywhere
A lot of people can think, that in the field of standard heavy ski touring bindings (Fritschi, Silvretta) can go only extra heavy freeride binding Marker Duke. It is not true and ski-company Hagan introduced binding Hagan Z01 – it would be nice to test it. Construction of Z01 is with double console similar to Silvretta Pure.

Huge offer of light ski touring binding is at Dynafit, evenwhen patent protection of their solution is over, so there are several other companies producing similar bingings – Má se Dynafit bát konkurence vázání TLT?. There a lot of extremely light bindings, and also severl middle-weight models as G3 Onyx and Ski Trab TR2.

There were more extremely light weight bindings instead of ATK Race mainly Plum (special discounts for holder of intenrational competiion licence for skialpinism), Dynaift and Ski Trab.

Interesting alternative for mountaineering plastic boot used for skialpinism is adapter AlpControl. I have tried it alone at ISPO 2010. It was possible to try AlpControl with binding Silvretta 500 and boots Asolo. It was very positive experience for me and I suppose that it is equal to softer skialpinism boots.

Skis
There was incredible amount of new skis, and some producers as Völkl have presented in mega style. I was not able to visit all ski producers – it was meant focused on skialpinism and freeride. The main producer was Movement for me – with possibility to meet their R&D guy – telemark legend Paul Parker.

Company Sporten from Nove Mesto na Morave was surprising me with their light model for ski-touring and a lot of skis for freeride and freestyle. It was a pity, that skis for ski-touring were locked on the wall, and there is not possibility to test them as they do not have any demo pair.

All other producers of skis, instead of Sporten, allows to put hands on skis and try them. Alain Calmet from AlpControl went futher, when he showed flexibility of the ski by jumping on its toe part – see photos Alain is about 190 cm tall with appropriate weight and ski alived his jumping without any trouble.

Shoes
There were a wide range of boots for skialpinism. On the other hand, Dalbello ski touring model I saw only in binding G3 Onyx, as I have not found them at Dalbello (ATTENTION! Ski touring Dalbello shoes were presented, and what's more, model Dalbello V.i.r.u.s Lite won first price). It was nice to see Dynafit ZZero4 ski touring shoes here as I had bought this shoes in November 2009.

Teleskopic ski-poles
There were presented different types of locking mechanism on teleskopic ski-poles. Company Italbastoni offers fast-fixatiton with triangual cross-section to improve steadness of ski-poles.
