MountainSki.eu concerns on different activites connected with snow or ice in mountains. Main activities are skialpinism and splitboard.
During skialpinism trip Skialpinism at Kamchatka 2009 – list of articles, photos and results we have not summited only Sopka Ostraja (1233 m), where we have not reached summit due to fog and wind. Instead of Ostraja we did two downhills from altitudes 890 and 840 meters. Trip to Kamchatka was supported by KAMA, Voda hory, Tilak, Quill-outdoor, www.lacnyskialp.sk and Baston.
At trip Skialpinism at Kamchatka 2009 – list of articles, photos and results volcano Viljuchinskij (2173 m) was one of our tasks. We have used special truck Kamaz to get to area of volcano. We have been for skialpinism at Kamchatka from April 25 till May 10, 2009. Our group consists of ten people, six of them from the Czech Republic, and four of them from Slovakia. There were two girls in this group, nine skialpinists, and one snowboarder. We had to change our plans due to high volcanic activity of volcano Korjakskij (3456 m), which is without snow from 2250 meters to the summit. During the trip Skialpinistická Kamčatka 2009 – přehled výsledků a ohlasů and ideal weather: sun, nowind, 2–3 meters of snow we met on the road from volcano Viljučinskij (2173 m) several couples on cross-country skis with partially removed dress. Vulcano Avachinskaja (2741 m) was planned for Wednesday, April 29. Weather was excellent, sun was shining, none clouds on the sky. On the other side, wind was extremely strong and influenced whole trip including quality of snow. There were only a group of four people at the summit, whereas others finished at altitudes 2450–2600 meters above sea completely frozen. Skiing was on ice. Volcano Korjakskij (3456 m) was our task for Thursday, April 30. For a pity, its high volcanic activity does not allow as to reach the summit, as there were no snow at all from altitude 2250 me to the summit. Normally, whole vulcano is covered by snow, ice and glacier, but not this year. Weather was excellent, sun was burning everything and there were no wind. We finished at 2250 meters, where fantastic skiing started. Trip was supported by KAMA, Voda hory, Tilak, Quill-outdoor, www.lacnyskialp.sk and Baston.
We landed at Elizovo airport (domestic airport for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskij) on Monday, April 27. First trip to Pacific ocean was realized just after lunch. Four members of Slovakian group that was already at Kamchatka for several more days, this trip was the second. They skied down from Kozelskij (2250 m) vulcano on Sunday, May 26. Today (April 28) we are going to the area of vulcanos Korjakskij-Avachinskaja. Upper part of Korjakskij is fully covered by vulcano dust. From April 25 to May 10, 2009, a group of Czech and Slovak skialpinists and one snowboarder will be skiing at volcanos and mountains of Kamchatka-peninsula, Far East Russia. This trip is sponsored by companies KAMA, Voda hory, Tilak, Quill-outdoor, www.lacnyskialp.sk and Baston. Design of our T-shirts was done by Vseta, practical realization by Hrib.

For skitouring there were only two days available, locals has recommended to
visit
surroundings of mountain hut Rifugio
Vittrorio Sella (2588 m), which is located in National park Gran Paradiso
in west part of Aosta valley. According to actual conditions we wanted to summit
Gran
Serra (3552m) and than to do some descents in hut neighbourhood.
It looks, that with ending patent rights for binding Dynafit TLT a lot of competitors bindings want to reach the ski-touring market. G3 Onyx was the first announced binding in the Czech Republic at the end of 2008. Binding Ski Trab TR1 was introduced at this year ISPO 2009. Another solution ATK RACE was up now completely not known for me. There are also big expectation from Black Diamond and its production in China.
