MountainSki.eu concerns on different activites connected with snow or ice in mountains. Main activities are skialpinism and splitboard.
At trip Skialpinism at Kamchatka 2009 – list of articles, photos and results volcano Viljuchinskij (2173 m) was one of our tasks. We have used special truck Kamaz to get to area of volcano. All ten people reached the summit of volcano. Trip to Kamchatka was supported by KAMA, Voda hory, Tilak, Quill-outdoor, www.lacnyskialp.sk and Baston.
We have been for skialpinism at Kamchatka from April 25 till May 10, 2009. Our group consists of ten people, six of them from the Czech Republic, and four of them from Slovakia. There were two girls in this group, nine skialpinists, and one snowboarder. We had to change our plans due to high volcanic activity of volcano Korjakskij (3456 m), which is without snow from 2250 meters to the summit. During the trip Skialpinistická Kamčatka 2009 – přehled výsledků a ohlasů and ideal weather: sun, nowind, 2–3 meters of snow we met on the road from volcano Viljučinskij (2173 m) several couples on cross-country skis with partially removed dress. Vulcano Avachinskaja (2741 m) was planned for Wednesday, April 29. Weather was excellent, sun was shining, none clouds on the sky. On the other side, wind was extremely strong and influenced whole trip including quality of snow. There were only a group of four people at the summit, whereas others finished at altitudes 2450–2600 meters above sea completely frozen. Skiing was on ice. Volcano Korjakskij (3456 m) was our task for Thursday, April 30. For a pity, its high volcanic activity does not allow as to reach the summit, as there were no snow at all from altitude 2250 me to the summit. Normally, whole vulcano is covered by snow, ice and glacier, but not this year. Weather was excellent, sun was burning everything and there were no wind. We finished at 2250 meters, where fantastic skiing started. Trip was supported by KAMA, Voda hory, Tilak, Quill-outdoor, www.lacnyskialp.sk and Baston.
We landed at Elizovo airport (domestic airport for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskij) on Monday, April 27. First trip to Pacific ocean was realized just after lunch. Four members of Slovakian group that was already at Kamchatka for several more days, this trip was the second. They skied down from Kozelskij (2250 m) vulcano on Sunday, May 26. Today (April 28) we are going to the area of vulcanos Korjakskij-Avachinskaja. Upper part of Korjakskij is fully covered by vulcano dust.
